Description

This Creamy Garlic Pasta is a delightful combination of spaghetti, garlic, and butter, all tossed in a rich creamy sauce. It’s perfect for a quick dinner that satisfies your cravings for comfort food with minimal prep.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, reserving ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, melt the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion; sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Add the heavy cream and bring to a boil.
  • Mix in the reserved pasta water and simmer until the sauce thickens, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from heat.
  • Incorporate grated parmesan cheese into the sauce until melted.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti and toss everything together until well combined.
  • Serve garnished with additional parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Notes

For a lighter version, you can reduce the amount of butter and cream.
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for added nutrition.
