Description

Crockpot Carolina Gold BBQ Chicken Thighs are packed with flavor and easy to prepare. With a delightful combination of mustard, honey, and spices, this dish is your go-to for a quick and hearty home-cooked meal.


Ingredients

  • 6 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ¾ cup yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs evenly on both sides.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the thighs skin-side down until golden and crisped.
  3. Transfer the chicken to the slow cooker, placing it skin-side up.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together mustard, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce around the chicken to keep the skin intact.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours until tender.
  7. Uncover the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate in the seasoning for a few hours before cooking.
Serve with a side of coleslaw for a classic BBQ meal.
This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
