- 5 pounds potatoes
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter ((1 stick))
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 cup milk (add to desired consistency)
- chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes and add them with skin to a large crock pot. Add garlic cloves (whole) and chicken broth.
- Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or low for 4-5 hours, until fork tender.
- Add sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mash with a potato masher, mixing in the butter, sour cream, and seasonings as you go.
- Once combined, stir in milk until the mashed potatoes reach the desired consistency. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth.
Adjust the milk to reach your preferred consistency.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving for added color and taste.
