Description

Make Ahead Crockpot Mashed Potatoes are creamy and flavorful, combining garlic and sour cream for a comforting side dish that’s easy to prepare, making them ideal for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 pounds potatoes
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter ((1 stick))
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 cup milk (add to desired consistency)
  • chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes and add them with skin to a large crock pot. Add garlic cloves (whole) and chicken broth.
  2. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or low for 4-5 hours, until fork tender.
  3. Add sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mash with a potato masher, mixing in the butter, sour cream, and seasonings as you go.
  4. Once combined, stir in milk until the mashed potatoes reach the desired consistency. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth.
Adjust the milk to reach your preferred consistency.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving for added color and taste.
