Description

This simple air fryer roast chicken is not only quick to prepare but bursting with flavor. Featuring a whole chicken infused with lemon and butter, this dish is perfect for a healthy meal or comforting family dinner. Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 pounds, giblets removed)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1.5 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken with paper towels and pierce the lemon half with a knife before placing it inside the chicken's cavity.
  2. Rub half of the softened butter on the chicken, seasoning generously with salt and pepper. Flip the chicken and repeat with the remaining butter and seasoning.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  4. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Carefully turn the chicken breast-side up and continue cooking for another 25 minutes, checking that the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

Make sure to remove giblets from the chicken before cooking.
Resting the chicken after cooking is crucial for juiciness.
Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices for extra flavor.
