Description

Experience the amazing taste of slow cooker pastrami made with tender corned beef, aromatic garlic, and a blend of spices. This easy crockpot dinner offers irresistible flavor with minimal effort, making it a great choice for busy weeknights or gatherings with friends and family.


Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. corned beef, i use flat cut
  • spice packet that comes with the corned beef
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled, but left whole
  • 12 oz. beer
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp. hickory liquid smoke
  • marble rye
  • thousand island dressing
  • swiss cheese
  • sauerkraut

Instructions

  1. Rinse the corned beef thoroughly to remove excess salt.
  2. Place the rinsed corned beef in the slow cooker.
  3. Sprinkle the spice packet, onion powder, brown sugar, and black pepper over the corned beef, then add the garlic cloves.
  4. Pour in the beer, water, and hickory liquid smoke over the beef.
  5. Set the slow cooker to LOW and cook for 7-8 hours.
  6. After cooking, transfer the corned beef to a cutting board, allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes, then slice with a knife and serve.

Notes

For a spicier dish, consider adding more garlic or some red pepper flakes.
Using flat cut corned beef yields a more tender result, ideal for slicing for sandwiches.
Pair with marble rye, thousand island dressing, swiss cheese, and sauerkraut for a complete meal.
