Description

This Swiss Chicken Bake features tender chicken breasts topped with gooey Swiss cheese and a creamy, flavorful sauce. It’s an easy-to-make dish that promises comfort and satisfaction. Perfect for quick dinners or family gatherings, this recipe combines savory herb stuffing and delicious cheese for an irresistible meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 ½ pounds)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • ⅓ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ cups herb stuffing mix
  • ¼ cup melted salted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the chicken breasts in the bottom of the baking dish and place Swiss cheese slices on top.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, and onion powder. Spread this mixture over the chicken and cheese.
  4. In another bowl, combine the herb stuffing mix with melted butter and spread it evenly over the top of the chicken.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the stuffing is golden.

Notes

For a crispy topping, broil on low for a couple of minutes after baking if necessary.
Feel free to add vegetables, like broccoli or spinach, for extra nutrition.
This dish pairs well with a simple green salad.
