- 6 tablespoons (84g) unsalted butter, sliced
- 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
- ½ cup (118ml) heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add the brown sugar and heavy whipping cream. Stir until it begins to boil.
- Allow the mixture to reach a full boil and let it cook for 3 minutes without stirring.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the sauce into a jar and let it cool before covering it.
- As the sauce cools, it will thicken. If refrigerated, it will turn into a soft solid. Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds before using.
Notes
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
