Description

These Caramelized Figs are a delightful combination of sweet honey and fresh figs, served over creamy Greek yogurt. They’re easy to prepare and perfect for a light dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 4-inch sprig thyme
  • 3 large figs, cut in half
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons pistachios, toasted

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, heat honey and thyme leaves over medium-low heat for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the fig halves, cut-side down, to the skillet and caramelize for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Turn the figs over with tongs and sauté for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Serve the caramelized figs over Greek yogurt and drizzle with thyme honey, topping with toasted pistachios.

Notes

Ensure the skillet is not too hot to prevent burning the honey.
Feel free to use any fresh herbs instead of thyme for a different flavor profile.
These figs taste best when served warm, fresh off the skillet.
