Description

Chili Cheese Meatball Bake is a delicious and comforting dish that combines savory meatballs with a zesty tomato sauce and melted cheese. Perfect for a quick dinner, this recipe is easy to prepare and sure to please the whole family with its rich flavors!


Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup plain bread crumbs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced or grated
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 2 cans tomato sauce, 15 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, milk, olive oil, onion, beef, pork, eggs, garlic, salt, pepper, and taco seasoning until just combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into meatballs about the size of golf balls and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, oregano, black pepper, and cumin, then pour the sauce over the meatballs and top with cheese.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese on top for added flavor.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated for an easy meal later.
