Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons (62.5 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (16 ounces) chicken broth
- ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- If the chicken breasts are thick, pound them to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness for even cooking. Alternatively, slice large chicken breasts in half horizontally if needed.
- Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Place the flour in a shallow bowl. Lightly dredge the chicken, shaking off any excess flour.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side, until golden brown without needing to be fully cooked. Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.
Notes
Pounding the chicken breasts ensures even cooking and tenderness.
Feel free to substitute heavy cream with milk for a lighter version.
Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor and color.
