Description

Grilled Corn on the Cob marries sweet, juicy corn with rich butter and spices for a delightful dish. Perfect for summer cookouts or quick weeknight meals, this recipe is all about simple prep and bold flavors. Enjoy a taste of summer with every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 full-size corn on the cob (ears) – with or without husk
  • ¼ tsp oil if using a griddle pan, otherwise optional
  • 30 g butter or dairy free alternative
  • seasoning salt/pepper/herbs/chilli flakes/etc

Instructions

  1. Prepare and set out all butters and seasonings in advance, taking suggestions from the main post.
  2. If the corn has husks, peel back the husk and remove all internal silk and tassels to clean the kernels. You can either fully remove the husk or secure it back.
  3. Preheat your barbecue, grill, or griddle pan to high heat. For BBQ, ensure the coals are red and glowing. For grill, heat for several minutes. For griddle, set on high.
  4. If using a griddle pan, lightly brush it with oil. Oil is not necessary for BBQ or grill, but feel free to brush a little on the corn for an extra boost while cooking.
  5. Place the corn cobs on the grill setup (BBQ, grill, or griddle pan).
  6. Check and turn the corn frequently until it turns a deeper yellow color while remaining juicy, with slight charring on the surface. Cooking should take about 8 to 10 minutes. Avoid overcooking as that leads to dry kernels.
  7. Remove the corn from heat and serve it hot, slathered with your favorite butter and seasonings to taste.

Notes

For extra flavor, try mixing herbs or spices into your butter before applying it to the corn.
Make sure to keep an eye on the corn while it grills to avoid overcooking.
Experiment with various butters, such as garlic or chili butter, for different flavor profiles.
