Description

These Homemade Artisan Crackers (4 Flavors) are a delightful snack or appetizer, featuring simple ingredients and irresistible flavors. Perfect for sharing and enjoyable with dips or cheeses, they serve as an easy option for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading and rolling
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2/3 cup (160ml) water
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing on top
  • flaky sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and rosemary.
  2. Pour in the water and olive oil, then stir until the dough forms a clump.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Divide the dough in half, covering one part while working with the other.
  7. Roll out one half of the dough on a floured surface until very thin (about 1/16 inch).
  8. Cut the dough into 3 x 1.5 inch rectangles and place them on the baking sheet.
  9. Repeat this process with the other half of the dough.
  10. Dock the crackers with a fork, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  11. Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown, rotating the sheets halfway through.
  12. Let the crackers cool completely on a rack before serving.

Notes

For added variety, try using other herbs or spices in place of rosemary.
Store the crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
To refresh stale crackers, bake them at 350°F for 10 minutes.
