Description

Experience the delicious flavors of Mississippi Chicken, featuring tender chicken breast cooked with peperoncini peppers and seasoned with ranch and gravy mixes. It’s a quick and easy dish perfect for comfort food lovers seeking a satisfying homemade meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 6 to 12 peperoncini peppers
  • 1 (1-oz) packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 (1-oz) packet ranch dressing mix
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Spray a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray and prepare your ingredients.
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Place the peperoncini peppers around the chicken, adding a few tablespoons of the liquid from the jar as desired. Sprinkle the gravy and ranch mixes evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cut the butter into tablespoons and distribute evenly on top of the chicken.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2.5 to 4 hours or on LOW for 6 to 8 hours until the chicken reaches 165°F.
  6. Once done, remove the chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before chunking it with two forks.
  7. Stir the chicken back into the sauce and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Adjust the amount of peperoncini based on your preferred spice level.
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or vegetables for a complete meal.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
