Description

This Mixed Berry Crisp combines juicy strawberries and blueberries with a crunchy topping, making it an irresistible dessert. Perfect for a cozy gathering, it’s easy to prepare and delivers comforting, homemade flavor with every bite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup (93g) all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (64g) quick cook oats
  • ¾ cup (150g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons (78g) cold unsalted butter, diced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 cups blueberries, frozen or fresh
  • ½ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons (24g) cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles small crumbs; set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, combine the strawberries and blueberries. Toss gently with the granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch until evenly coated. Spread the fruit mixture in the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the fruit and gently press down to compact it slightly.
  5. Bake for 30-33 minutes until the topping is golden brown and crunchy. Allow it to cool before serving, ideally with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

Serving this dessert warm enhances its flavor; letting it sit will allow the filling to thicken properly.
Feel free to mix in other berries such as raspberries or blackberries for variety.
Substituting frozen berries is convenient and works perfectly in this recipe.
