Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches, cubed (about 1 lb)
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- Cube the peaches, peeling them if they're fresh. If using frozen peaches, thaw them first.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well.
- Heat the mixture until the peach juice separates and it reaches a simmer.
- Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Use a potato masher to lightly mash about 20% of the peaches for texture.
- Cook for 1 more minute, then remove from heat. Allow to cool completely before using.
Notes
Ensure peaches are ripe for the best flavor.
