- 4 cups pears (peeled and thinly sliced from 5–6 pears)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup rolled oats (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour (gluten free, if needed)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts (optional, chopped)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine the pears, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the pear mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it in an even layer.
- In the same bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, and brown sugar. If desired, stir in chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Cut the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles crumbles.
- Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the pear mixture.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the pears are bubbling. Let it cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
