Description

This Salmon Bowl combines succulent salmon with a sweet orange glaze. It’s easy to prepare and great for a quick, healthy dinner or a cozy meal at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt divided
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 large orange juiced and zested (about ½ cup juice and 1 teaspoon zest)
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and season with ¼ teaspoon of salt and black pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, orange zest, orange juice, ginger, and sesame oil. Add salmon pieces and gently toss to coat. Allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, take the salmon out of the marinade (keep marinade aside) and place it in the skillet in a single layer. Cook without stirring for 2 minutes until lightly browned, then flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes until just done. Transfer to a plate.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet, reduce the heat to medium, and let it simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring gently until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Return salmon to the skillet and coat it with the sauce.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve over cooked rice.

Notes

Feel free to serve with steamed vegetables for added nutrition.
For a spicier kick, consider adding a dash of chili flakes or hot sauce in the marinade.
This dish can be easily made in under 30 minutes, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
